iMac 2012 Repair

We had a customer bring in an iMac that was unable to boot to the desktop.

After running hardware diagnostics we confirmed that the internal memory had failed as well as the three-terabyte mechanical drive.

After consulting with the client and laying out the options they decided to fix this iMac.

Our Victoria Mac computer repair team got to work quickly by first upgrading the memory with thirty-two gigabytes of system memory! To verify that the iMac could handle it and that the new memory was good we ran memory diagnostics again, no issues.

Next, we moved on to fixing the mechanical drive which involves removing the laminated IPS display to give access to the drive. Once it was off removing the old drive and installing a new terabyte solid-state drive was easy.

Once everything was nicely installed and checked over, the screen was polished and temporarily put back for a final inspection.
